Responsibilities
Under the general supervision, the Central Service Technician, Certified is responsible for collecting, processing, storing, and delivering medical-surgical supplies and equipment. The Central Service Technician, Certified is responsible for the reprocessing of all sterile and non-sterile materials, instruments, and equipment for surgery and other hospital units. They are responsible for manual cleaning and decontamination; operating the mechanical washers and sonic units; testing autoclaves for efficiency and maintaining compliant records; They assists in the recall process as needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma/GED required
Over 6 months to 1 year Hospital experience preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated analytical skills, required
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills, required
- Knowledge of medical terminology, required
- Possesses familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), required
- Understands decontamination and sterilization procedures.
Maintains records of sterility testing and work statistics., required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
CRCST through HSPA or CBSPD, Upon hire, required
